Pets' Paradise

Man's Best Friend usually finds a warm welcome in France. But while it's a great place for most pets, many pet-owners may need a little help - in English - figuring out how to make the most out of life for their fuzzy, feathered or scaly companions. Whether you're planning to travel with your pet or need a place for it to stay while you travel, AngloINFO can point you in the right direction.

Safe and sound

The INFOrmation Page on Pet Travel & Moving with Animals explains in detail how to keep your pet legal, safe and healthy while moving to and around mainland Europe.

Once you have arrived with your animal you need to know the rules, perks and dangers of owning a pet in France. The INFOrmation Page Essential Animal Information for Pet Owners tells you about animal vaccinations, what to do if you lose (or find) an animal, and it offers information on dangerous dog breeds as well as the responsibilities of their owners. You can also find links to animal-related organisations, refuges and shelters.

In addition, the Pet Threats INFOrmation Page describes the seasonal insects and diseases that can pose a danger to your pet.

The Dogs, Cats, Pets & Animals category of The AngloFILE, your online local English-language directory, lists businesses and other organisations able to provide animal services in English.

And finally, the Pets & Animals forum is a dedicated location for discussing local issues affecting animals of all types - from your household pet to the regional wildlife.
