It's an odd truth that while you may never properly
explore the tourist and historical attractions of the area where you
grew up, when
you become resident in a new location you can quickly become far more
knowledgeable about a place's sights and highlights than the locals -
not
least because you often end up showing visiting friends and family around
your adopted home!
